The Toyota Tundra has added style and toughness to its lineup of 2021 models. Built in the heart of truck country in San Antonio, Texas, Toyota is introducing the Trail and Nightshade special editions, along with a new exterior color for the TRD Pro edition.
Powered by the 5.7-liter i-FORCE V-8 engine that will offer up to 10,200 pounds of towing capacity and a maximum payload of 1,730 pounds, the 2021 Tundra will be able to tackle any job or be used for the family road trip.
A popular version of the truck is the TRD Pro model. However, instead of coming in army green color like former models, the 2021 model will introduce the lunar rock color. This color joins super white, magnetic gray metallic and midnight black metallic as exterior paint options.
The 2021 Tundra Trail is a great choice for camping, fishing or hiking. Based on the SR5 Crew Max with the SR5 upgrade package, this truck includes comforts like power lumbar support, three front cupholders and all-weather floor liners. Coming in the colors of army green, cement, midnight black and super white, the Tundra Trail sports a bold chrome grille, special edition wheels and lockable bed storage.
For a more luxurious ride, the Tundra Nightshade offers SE grade versions with black leather-trim seating, darkened chrome grille and a bold styling package that includes black wheels. Offered in two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive configurations, the Nightshade can be purchased in midnight black metallic or magnetic gray metallic. For an extra charge, the truck can be customized with windchill pearl or super white exterior paint.
The 2021 Tundra starts at a MSRP of $35,365 and ranges up to $51,945.
The Tundra is made at Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Texas Inc. in San Antonio. The plant, which employs approximately 2,500 workers, is Toyota’s first plant to integrate production facilities for many of its suppliers on the same grounds and some under the same roof. Joining the Tundra, which has been made at the plant since 2006, is the Toyota Tacoma, which has been made at the Texas facility since 2010.
