Kia Telluride Named Best Family Car to Buy

The 2021 Kia Telluride Nightfall Edition

The Kia Telluride has been named The Car Connection’s Best Family Car to Buy for 2021, marking the second consecutive year the SUV has earned the high praise.

“The Telluride is the poster child of Kia’s incredible transformation and earning praise from the auto experts at TCC for a second year in a row validates our efforts and commitment to making award winning products,” said Sean Yoon, president and CEO, Kia Motors America, Kia Motors North America.

TCC editors looked at value, fuel efficiency, safety, interior spaciousness, quality, design and driving dynamics. Editors made their choice after test-driving more than 100 new 2021 vehicles priced under $50,000.

The Telluride underwent a complete revamp for the 2020 model, with the 2021 model receiving minor enhancements, along with a special Nightfall Edition, which features blacked-out elements, giving the vehicle a more commanding presence on the road. The 2021 Telluride starts at $32,190.

Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia, located in West Point, manufactures the Telluride and Sorento SUVs and the Optima sedan. The plant has an annual capacity of 340,000 vehicles and represents a $1.1 billion investment.

Earlier this month, in Korea, Kia revealed its new corporate logo and global brand slogan — Movement that Inspires. The launch of the logo followed the company’s “Plan S” long-term business strategy in 2020 that focuses the company on popularizing electric vehicles and introducing a broad range of mobility services tailored to meet the needs and tastes of individuals and local markets. Kia Motors Corp. is set to provide more details on its new brand strategy and its impact on the company’s future product line-up on Friday, Jan. 15.
