Honda moves restart to May 1

Automakers balance production needs with worker safety

Honda on Monday updated its production schedule in light of the Covid-19 pandemic, announcing it would extend its automobile production suspension through May 1.

The move includes all Honda automobile, engine and transmission plants in the U.S. and Canada.

Honda of South Carolina Mfg. Inc. (HSC), which produces powersports products including ATVs and side-by-side vehicles, is also extending its production suspension through May 1. HSC originally suspended its production on March 26.
