Borbet Alabama investing $23.9 million, adding 25 jobs in Auburn, Alabama

Borbet Alabama is investing $23.9 million and adding 25 jobs over the next two years at its Auburn, Alabama facility.

The German-based company, a subsidiary of Borbet Group, is a manufacturer of light metal alloy wheels. The Alabama plant, located in the Auburn Technology Park North, opened in 2008 and is one of the largest industrial employers in the community, with approximately 225 employees.

“Borbet is thankful for the support of city leadership and the commitment of those who make up the Borbet Alabama team that has allowed the Auburn operation to maintain continued growth and high company standards,” said Juergen Keller, CEO of Borbet Alabama, to Auburn News.

The plant is vertically integrated, including melting, casting, flow forming, x-raying, heat treating, machining and painting. It continues to make investments in technology, like its new radial runout testing machines.

The Borbet Group has nine locations worldwide in Germany, Austria, South Africa and the United States. Its alloy wheels combine design and safety, longevity and functionality. The company says its name — Borbet — stands for perfect quality, innovative technologies and pioneering design.
